I’m a tenure-track lecturer in the Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Girona and a researcher in the Research Group on Biodiversity and Marine Resources (GR Mar) of the Institute of Aquatic Ecology (IEA). My scientific interest is based on the study of the biology and ecology of long-lived benthic marine organisms that provided structural complexity to marine ecosystems with the final aim of their conservation. Specifically, my scientific career began with the study of the biology and chemical ecology of sponges and the biotic and abiotic factors that influence them. Later on, my scientific interest has focused on the photophilic seaweeds species, in their responses at the biological level (reproduction, growth, survival) against several current threats such as global warming, pollution, and invasive species. www.marineforest.com
