I am a biologist with a Ph.D. in Ecology (2019). I conduct research in the field of aquatic ecology and fish ecology, with an emphasis on biological invasions in marine and freshwater ecosystems. My interests within these areas involve understanding the patterns and processes surrounding the invasion by an aquatic organism, the impacts involved in this process, and the interaction of biological invasions with other sources of anthropogenic impact (such as climate change and habitat loss and degradation). I actively participate in activities promoting diversity and inclusion of marginalized groups in science. I am a member of the Society for Open, Reliable, and Transparent Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (SORTEE) and the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD/UNESCO).
