I take about 22 years teaching in the Faculty of the University of Girona.
I am currently Professor of Zoology.
My teaching has been focused on Zoology, but I have participated in others like arthropod biology and ethology. All in the degree in Biology and Environmental Sciences. I participate in the Master of Environment in the course "Impacts to the natural environment."
My research is focused in ants, basically in three research lines: mirmecochory (seed dispersal by ants), exotic and invasive ants and ants as bioindicators.
I'm the Principal Investigator of the Research Group on Ecological Disturbances and Terrestrial Animal Communities (GR-PECAT), a consolidated research group of Catalonia, which together with researchers of ichthyology, we are the Animal Biology research group at the University of Girona.
I have supervised or co-supervised eight doctoral theses (one is in progress). I have a hundred publications and half are papers in international indexed journals.
Management positions: Dean of the Faculty of Science, Director of the Department of Environmental Sciences, Academic Secretary and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Science.
I am currently the President of the Association of Iberian Myrmecology (AIM).
