Pilar Marques is an associate professor in the Department of Business Organization, Management and Product Design at the Universitat de Girona. She currently serves as the director of the Chamber of Commerce Chair of Family Business at the same university. She was the promoter and director of the Masters in Entrepreneurship and Business Development program at the University of Girona. Prior to this, she held the position of Deputy Vice Rector for International Policy at the same university and served as the Research Coordinator at the Chair of Family Business. She has contributed her expertise as an external expert in various European projects focused on SME innovation, CSR, and quadruple helix collaboration, and she has been a researcher and leader in several initiatives supported by Spanish research schemes. Her teaching portfolio encompasses strategic management and family business. Her ongoing research endeavours revolve around family businesses, particularly emphasizing transgenerational dynamics, innovation and survival. Her research has been published in international journals, including Family Business Review, Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of Family Business Strategy, Technological Forecasting and Social Change and European Planning Studies, among others.
