Emma Gallardo holds a Bachelor''s degree in Tourism and a Master''s degree in Tourism Management and Planning from the University of Girona (UdG). She is currently a predoctoral researcher at the same university under an IFUdG2025 predoctoral contract and a member of the ONIT research group (Research Group on Ontological Nomadisms and Inclusive Transformations). Her research focuses on the socio-spatial transformations associated with tourism and mobilities, with particular interest in ways of inhabiting, habitability, and the material and symbolic conditions that shape people''s experiences of places. She also explores how these transformations affect social relations, power dynamics, and the ways in which space is appropriated and imbued with meaning. Her research primarily adopts a qualitative methodological approach, focusing on everyday experiences, discourses, and practices through which spaces are lived, interpreted, and transformed.
