The main evaluation for this course is in March with the Continuous Global Exam.
The system of Continuous Evaluation for this course is only possible for students with 80% attendance before the March exam. 80% attendance means that a maximum of 19 hours may be missed in total (9 two-hour sessions + 1 one-hour session, or the equivalent; 19 h must not be exceeded under any circumstances, (except when authorized by the Executive Board of Directors). Students with less than 80% attendance will have to sit the Continuous Global Re-sit Exam.
The Final Continuous Evaluation in March consists of:
A) The Continuous Global Exam: 15% Oral Exam
: 45% Written Exam
This exam includes all the work covered throughout the year, October to March.
It is obligatory to sit both parts of the Continuous Global Exam together (ORAL+WRITTEN).
B) Evaluated exercises, tests, tasks and student participation: 20%
C) The Presentation mark: 20% (This part of the evaluation must be repeated in the Re-sit exam if the minimum mark (5/10) is not achieved regardless of the average mark from sections A+B+C.)
On the other hand, if the student fails the Re-sit of the Presentation, the final mark of the Course will be the average of A+B+C regardless of the individual marks.
The students who fail the Final Continuous Evaluation will be re-evaluated in the Continuous Global Re-sit Exam, which covers the study period October to March and follows the same percentage evaluation.
*If the student passes the Presentation part of the Final Continuous Evaluation but fails the Continuous Global Exam (written / oral) his / her Presentation mark will be saved for the Global Re-sit Exam (for that year ONLY).
The students who choose the Continuous Evaluation at the beginning of the course and do not attend 80% of the classes, will sit a Global Re-sit Exam in March. This evaluation covers the study period October to March, will be more extensive and will continue to include the exercises, tasks, tests and student participation. (15% oral exam, 45% written exam, 20% exercises, tests, tasks and student participation, 20% presentation mark).
There is no further re-sit for students who fail this exam.
The students who choose the Global Evaluation at the beginning of the course must sit a Final Global Exam. This exam includes all the work covered throughout the course from October to March and does not include evaluation for exercises, tasks, tests or student participation.
In addition, to qualify for the Global Evaluation system, the student must complete a piece/ pieces of work set by the teacher (at the teacher’s discretion). Although these pieces of work are not evaluated in the Final Global Exam, they must achieve a pass mark in quality to be accepted. The pieces of work must be handed in by email or Moodle by the deadline set in each case. To the contrary, the student will lose the right to sit the Final Global Exam in March.
The Final Global Exam consists of:
- Oral Exam – 15%
- Written Exam – 65%
- Presentation – 20%
Due to the extent of the content to be examined, the duration of the Final Global Exam will be longer than that of the Continuous Global Exam.
The students who fail the Final Global Exam or who do not sit the Final Global Exam will be re-evaluated in the Final Global Re-sit Exam. (15% Oral Exam, 65% Written Exam, 20% Presentation mark).
The pieces of work mentioned in the Final Global Exam conditions, unless handed in previously, continue to be a prerequisite for the Re-sit Exam. They must be sent by email or by Moodle before the Final Global Re-sit Exam, by the deadline set, otherwise they will not be accepted by the teacher and consequently, the student will lose the right to sit this exam.
The students who are exempt from class (ex-students, repeat students) must sit the Final Global Exam in May. This exam includes all the work covered throughout the year from October to March. (No evaluation mark for exercises, tasks, tests or student participation is included)
The Final Global Exam consists of a written exam (65%), an oral exam (15%) and 20% for a presentation (the topic given by the English Department). Due to the extent of the content to be examined, the duration of the Final Global Exam will be longer than that of the Continuous Final Global Exam.
The students exempt from class who fail the Final Global Exam will be re-evaluated in the Final Global Re-sit Exam (Reevaluación) which will be subject to the same conditions as the Final Global Exam.
Criteris específics de la nota «No Presentat»:
A student who does not sit any of the exams applicable -Continuous or Global Evaluation- (ordinary or re-sit) or parts of these exams (oral or written) will be considered
