The default evaluation system is continuous assessment. The final grade for the course will be calculated taking into account the following parameters.
- Evaluation tests: 40%
- Culture and identity assignment: 25%
- Mobility assignment: 25%
- Global Week Assignment: 10%
In order to calculate the final average, a minimum grade of 4 out of 10 is required in each assessment activity.
Any activity not submitted will receive a grade of 0 and must be resubmitted in order to be included in the final average (except for class participation, which is not recoverable).
Fraudulent Conduct
In case of fraudulent conduct, a grade of 0 (FAIL) will be given for the assessment concerned — regardless of disciplinary proceedings.
Fraudulent conduct includes: using/possessing prohibited devices, receiving unauthorised assistance, any form of copying.
Teaching staff must document facts in writing, collect evidence, and report to Dean/Director . A formal disciplinary procedure may be requested via the Service Inspection and Internal Control Unit.
AI Use
The use of generative AI tools is permitted in this course as a support resource (e.g., for brainstorming, information gathering, outlining, or language revision). However, AI tools must not replace students’ own critical thinking, analysis, interpretation, or original contributions.
Any use of AI must be explicitly acknowledged, indicating the tool used and how it contributed to the work. Students remain fully responsible for the accuracy, quality, and integrity of all submitted content.
Assessment will focus on students’ ability to develop critical arguments, integrate sources, and demonstrate independent understanding.
Where teaching staff has doubts about authorship, the student may be called to an in-person/synchronous interview to verify knowledge. If authorship cannot be confirmed the result will be failing grade.
Criteris específics de la nota «No Presentat»:
If the student does not take the final exam, the final grade will be recorded as Absent (NP), even if all other assignments have been submitted and passed.
Similarly, a grade of NP will also be assigned if the student fails to submit at least half of the required exercises and assessment activities in addition to the final exam.
Avaluació única:
For students who meet the criteria established by university regulations, the single assessment option will follow the evaluation system described below:
Final Exam – 70%
The final exam will account for 70% of the final grade and is resittable.
It will cover the full content of the course in a holistic way and will be theory-based and practice-oriented.
Assessment Activities – 30%
Students opting for single assessment must submit one of the individual assignments proposed in the course:
1. Reflective diary on identity and culture.
2. Reflective diary on mobilites.
Both activities are resittable.
For Fraudulent conduct and use of AI check the guidelines in "criteris de qualificació".
Requisits mínims per aprovar:
In order to pass the course, students must obtain a minimum final grade of 5.0 out of 10.
All necessary instructions for following the course will be provided during the in-person sessions. In addition, a summary will be posted in the course forum to ensure that all information is accessible.
Communication and interaction with students will take place via Moodle and email.
For individual tutorials, students must schedule an appointment in advance by contacting the relevant instructor via email.
Students are strongly encouraged to participate actively in class discussions and activities, as this is essential for co-constructing knowledge in a meaningful way.
It is important to read the assigned materials in advance to prepare for each session and to deepen and complement the course content.
This course prioritizes critical thinking and reflective engagement over rote memorization. Students are expected to question, connect, and apply concepts rather than simply recall definitions. A spirit of curiosity and open dialogue will be key to making the most of this learning experience.
