Phd student in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a focus on hydraulics and river environmental problems. Since 2 years l'm interested in microplastics pollution, mainly about acquatic transport processes, sampling methods and identification methods.
Since 2018 member of the university association of volunteers LARES - lTALY which deals with the dissemination of Civil Protection practices with regard to the issue of natural hazards.
November 2021 - Present
Research project about the development and implementation of a new methodology aimed at formulating the balance of microplastic particles (MPs) based on the concept of 'Sedimentological Balance' with a focus on the MP load delivered by Waste Water Treatment Plants (WWTPs) to rivers.
Dimensional, chemical and hydrodynamic characterization of MPs effluent from WWTPs and of those deriving from other sources (e.g MPs floating in the water column of rivers, MPs on the riverbanks, MPs effluent from combined sewer overflow) using imaging and microspectroscopy tecniques.
April 2021 – November 2021
Project on river-based shore refilling through artificial systems of hydroelectric plants, funded by Enel Green Power. Sediment sampling, monitoring of liquid and solid flow rates, study of surface and bottom sediment transport, rating curves evaluation, hydraulic modeling.
June 2020 – October 2020
Characterization of micro- and macroplastic samples with Raman spectroscopy and multi- spectral imaging, data processing and database creation. Sampling and laboratory activities at the San Colombano WWTP (Publiacqua company).
