Soc Professora Agregada de Biologia Cel·lular a la UdG des de 2019 i co-lidero el grup Laboratori del Suro del Departament de Biologia. La meva expertesa es troba en el camp de la biologia de plantes, amb àmplia experiència en l'estudi dels texitis que actuen de barrera protectora, utilitzant tècniques moleculars, histològiques, de transformació de plantes i químiques. Utilitzant la genètica funcional en Arabdiopsis i patata investigo quins són els mecanismes moleculars implicats en la formació del periderma i altres teixits ligno-suberificats com l'exodermis o l'endodermis, i com els diferents components de la paret contribueixen en la seva funció protectora. He fet estades internacionals de col·laboració en els grups de recerca de la Salomé Prat (CRG, Madrid), Lukas Schreiber/Benni Franke (Univeristat de Bonn), Ruth E. Stark (CCNY, EUA) i Niko Geldner (Universitat de Lausanne).
