Llicenciat en Ciències per la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona el 1984, Doctor en Biologia el 1992 per la mateixa universitat. L'anàlisi de la diversitat genètica de les espècies i la seva conservació són el meu camp d'especialització. Però també estic interessat en l'aplicació de les tècniques genètiques a la clarificació filogenètica i l'anàlisi biogeogràfica. He treballat sobre tot en la truita comuna (Salmo trutta) a la Península Ibèrica. Actualment treballo en ecologia molecular de espècies invasores i en l'anàlisi dels processos adaptatius a escala local i regional. Des del 1996 soc professor Titular de Genètica a la Universitat de Girona. La meva activitat docent es desenvolupa en els àmbits de la Genètica, la Biologia Evolutiva i la Biodiversitat en els graus de la Facultat de Ciències i en el Màster en Canvi Ambiental i Transició Socioecològica I graduated in Natural Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1984 and obtained a PhD in Biology from the same university in 1992. The analysis of the genetic diversity of species and their conservation is my area of expertise, but I am also interested in the application of genetic techniques to phylogenetic clarification and biogeographic analysis. I have worked mainly on brown trout (Salmo trutta) in the Iberian Peninsula. I am currently working on the molecular ecology of invasive species and the analysis of adaptive processes at local and regional scales. Since 1996 I have been a Senior Lecturer in Genetics at the University of Girona. My teaching activity develops in the fields of Genetics, Evolutionary Biology and Biodiversity in the undergraduate degrees of the Faculty of Science and in the Master in Environmental Change and Socio-ecological Transition.
