I graduated in Natural Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1984 and obtained a PhD in Biology from the same university in 1992. The analysis of the genetic diversity of species and their conservation is my area of expertise, but I am also interested in the application of genetic techniques to phylogenetic clarification and biogeographic analysis. I have worked mainly on brown trout (Salmo trutta) in the Iberian Peninsula. I am currently working on the molecular ecology of invasive species and the analysis of adaptive processes at local and regional scales. Since 1996 I have been a Senior Lecturer in Genetics at the University of Girona. My teaching activity develops in the fields of Genetics, Evolutionary Biology and Biodiversity in the undergraduate degrees of the Faculty of Science and in the Masters in Environmental Change and Socio-ecological Transition.
