La investigadora Ingrid Vilà-Giménez, conjuntament amb Jiali Li, Sara Coego i Pilar Prieto, ha publicat l'article "Embodying stories: Adults increase the use of character-viewpoint gesture in telling stories to children" a la revista ITL – International Journal of Applied Linguistics. L'estudi analitza com futurs mestres adapten la seva comunicació verbal i gestual quan expliquen una mateixa història a infants o a persones adultes. Els resultats mostren que les narracions dirigides als infants són més llargues i incorporen més gestos icònics i més gestos que representen la perspectiva dels personatges de la història.
