• Proporcionar una atenció de fisioteràpia eficaç, atorgant una assistència integral als pacients.
• Saber treballar en equips professionals com a unitat bàsica en què s'estructuren de forma uni o multidisciplinària i interdisciplinària els professionals i altre personal de les organitzacions assistencials.

1. Theory • Epidemiology, Stomatognatic system, sensitive inervation • Osteology, the temporal bone and the mandibule • Periarticular structures; the muscle: temporal, masseter, medial and lateral pterigoid, suprahyoid muscle (digastric) • Articular structures: capsule, synovial m., bilaminar zone, disc, temporomandibular ligament • Biomechanics: artro and osteocinematic of the TMJ. Protraction, retraction, lateral movement, protrution, retrution. Overbite and overjet • Pathology: disc displacement, hypermovility • Cervical spine: biomechanical and neurophysiological relation between cervical spine and TMJ. Stabilization • Relationship TMJ ~ Global Body Posture

2. Practice • Muscular palpation: intra and extraoral palpation • Articular palpation: intra and extra articular palpation • Measurement of the different mandibular movements • Treatment: passive movilization, intra and extraoral techniques. PA, AP, transversal lateral and medial movement, longitudinal caudal movement, compression • Muscle treatment • Differential diagnostic between cervical and TMJ • Cervical movilization, accesory and physiological movement off upper cervical spine • Cervical stabilization

Assessment activities:

The student will be assessed by means of a Final Exam; the minimal mark to pass will be 5.00 out of 10.

Specific criteria for the "No show" grade:
Students not attending to neither the continuous assessment nor the final assessment will be marked with a 'not attended' for the corresponding evaluation.

Single Assessment:
The evaluation system in EUSES - UdG is based, in general, in the continuous assessment. If the student wishes to take part in the unique pathway, he / she will need to request it in writing to the lecturer of the subject and the degree coordinator during the first two weeks of the Semester.
Practical and theorical exam. 100% of the final mark

Minimum requirements to pass:
A minimum grade of 5.0 will be required to pass the subject

The tutorials will be carried out in person in enabled classrooms, and also virtually.

Communication and interaction with the students will be done in person and virtually throughout the forum of Moodle, video-conferencing means and email.

Learning outcomes:

- Identifying the anatomical structures of the temporo-mandibular Joint as a knowledge base to establish dynamic relationships with the functional organisation.
- Knowing the physiological and structural changes at the local joint and global level of the body occuring as a result of the application of Physiotherapy.
- Identifying the most appropriate physiotherapeutic treatment in the different alteration processes, health prevention and promotion as well as in the growth and development processes.
- Identifying the situation of the patient/user through a diagnosis of physiotherapy care, planning interventions and effectiveness evaluations in a cooperative work environment with other professionals in health sciences.
- Knowing and applying the guidelines for good clinical practice.
