Assessment will be based on three case studies (10% each, for a total of 30%) and an in-class presentation of one case study (10%). The portfolio is not resit eligible. 40 No Participation in the activities of the Global Week Given that the portfolio requires the inclusion of case studies, participation in Global Week activities may provide students with valuable opportunities to deepen their understanding of specific topics and to identify issues of particular relevance. 5 No Attendance and active participation in class Capability to come to class with an open mind, to talk and engage in lively discussion. 10 No
The continuous assessment will consist of the following components: 1) Theoretical exam covering the contents addressed throughout the course (45%). This exam is resit eligible. 2) Individual portfolio including three of the practical case studies explored during the course. The portfolio must offer a deeper analysis of the selected cases, include a rationale for their selection, and demonstrate the connection between theoretical concepts and practical applications and in-class presentation of a case study (40%). The portfolio is not resit eligible. 3) Attendance and active participation assessed based on regular attendance and meaningful engagement in class discussions and activities (10%). This component is not resit eligible. 4) Participation in the activities held within the framework of the Global Week (5%). In order to pass the exam through continuous assessment, students must obtain a minimum grade of 5 in the theoretical exam and a minimum score of 4 in the portfolio. The final average grade for the exam must be equal to or higher than 5 . Plagiarism in any form is a serious academic offence. It will automatically result in a grade of 0 for the course (final course grade) and will lead to the initiation of formal disciplinary proceedings Where the teaching staff has doubts about the authorship of any assessed work, the student may be called to attend an in-person or synchronous interview (which may be recorded), in order to verify their knowledge and competences and confirm the authorship of the work. Criteris específics de la nota «No Presentat»: Students who do not take the exam will be marked as 'absent'. Avaluació única: The single assessment will consist of the following components: 1. Theoretical examination covering the content addressed throughout the course. This examination is eligible for resit if not passed at the first sitting (50%). 2. Weekly critical essays based on the required readings assigned throughout the course and/or a critical review and reading test on a literary work to be specified. This component is not eligible for resit (50%). To pass the course through single assessment, students must obtain a minimum grade of 5 out of 10 in both the theoretical examination and the weekly critical essays. Requisits mínims per aprovar: In order to pass the exam, a minimum overall mark of 5.0 is required.
