Degree in Philosophy and Arts (History of Art / Musicology) and Doctor from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He completed advanced conservatory studies of Music Theory, Composition and orchestration. He has been working for many years as music teacher specialist in secondary education, and he’s currently lecturer and researcher in the Faculty of Education at the University of Girona. He leads the GR-MUSET research Group at UdG dealing with Music and Transformative Education.
He has held several predoctoral and postdoctoral research stays at the universities of Salamanca, Reading, Cambridge and Glocestershire (UK). His doctoral thesis, on the Cercle Manuel de Falla in Barcelona, won the 18th Emili Pujol Music Research Prize (2005). He has published articles on music education and musicology in the Spanish Journal of Musicology, Music and Education, Eufonía, Revista Aula, etc.
He usually works in research lines related to musical pedagogy, professional competencies, creativity, initial teacher training, interdisciplinarity and artistic education.
Born in Castelló d'Empúries, he lives between Palau-saverdera and Figueres (Alt Empordà). He is married and father of April and Joel.
