AIMS OF THE SUBJECT

The aim of this course is to develop a critical understanding of the concept of sustainable development. Different interpretations of sustainable tourism are analysed. Theoretical and empirical interpretations of sustainable tourism are discussed with special focus on ecological, economical, social, and cultural relations. A number of cases are used in a comparative perspective to analyse the potentials of sustainable tourism within tourism development and management.
