AIMS OF THE SUBJECT

The aim of the subject is to present general environmental theories on environmental damage and instruments for its minimisation, based on general environmental theories applied to the tourism field. The subject will also give an insight in understanding of the tools for developing sustainable tourism. The target group that can find subject interesting are tourism planners in the tourism industry or public administrators at the national and local levels who deal with tourism development issues. The emphasis of the subject is on economy dimension.

COURSE COMPETENCES

 

The students will understand general environmental theories on environmental damage and distinguish among different tourism concepts. They will be able to adopt sustainable tourism development principles into a state/regional/destination tourism strategy and policy. Students will also be able to solve environment related business problem by selecting and implementing different environmental policy instruments.
