Qualificació

FINAL EXAM (60 %) + CONTINUOUS EVALUATION ACTIVITIES (40 %)

1. FINAL EXAM (60 %)

There will be a written EXAM divided into two parts:

* The first part (6/10 points) is composed of 25 multiple choice questions about the content of the subject. Each question will have five possible answers, only one of which is correct. Incorrect answers will result in a loss of 1/4 of the value of each question; that is, each correct answer adds 0.24 and each wrong answer subtracts 0.06.

* The second part (4/10 points) is composed of 4 short questions (open questions, problems, images, graphics ...). Each of the four questions counts as one point.

It is essential to obtain a minimum of 4.5 in this final exam in order to evaluate the subject together with the continuous assessment activities and be able to pass the course.
The final score is graded in the following manner:

* SCORE [4.5 - 10] The score on the final exam (60%) is added to the continuous evaluation activities (40%) and an average is generated. The student passes if the final average is equal to or greater than 5.0.

* SCORE [0.0 - 4.49] None of the other scores from the other activities will be weighted, regardless of the student’s grade and the student will need to complete the makeup exam to pass the course.

For the final exam:

1) Please bring your student ID card. If you do not have your ID with you, you will need to report your student ID number, but your grade may not be accessible during the grading period.

2) Please bring a calculator to answer some of the questions. You will not be allowed to use your cell phone during ANY part of the exam. You will also not be allowed to share calculators.

Either students who have failed or students who have not chosen to complete the continuous assessment will be permitted to complete a makeup exam with a MAXIMUM NOTE of 5.0 (a score of 5.0 must be achieved to pass the course, and they will obtain 5.0 as a maximum grade). The qualification of continuous assessment activities will not be consider in any case.

Review of exams will only be completed on the date and time provided by the Coordination Department. Under no circumstances may it be carried out remotely or on another date or time.

2. CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES (40 %)

During the semester, two activities will be completed that, together, will compose the remaining 40% of the student’s final grade.

1. Creation of an infographic with contents related to the subject in pairs (20 %).

2. Exposition of content related with Public Health in pairs (20 %).

The only condition is that the students' pairs of both continuous assessment issues must be different; that is, each student must work with two different colleagues throughout the course.

IMPORTANT:

1. In the case of a student repeating a course, the grades of the continuous assessment activities of previous courses are not included in the final score (you must submit them again to pass the course).

2. The presentation of the same or similar continuous assessment work to students who are repeating the subject is not allowed.

3. If you are repeating the course, students are prohibited from submitting the same or similar assignments (complete or partial plagiarism) towards the completion of the continuous assessment.

4. If students submit the same or similar assignments, then a grade of ZERO will be awarded and Coordination and Management will be notified to open a disciplinary file to the student.

5. The existence of an anti-plagiarism program of the Universitat de Girona is recalled that detects the percentage of plagiarism with assigments from other years / other subjects / other centers or from the network directly, even in pages translated into other languages.

6. Class attendance is voluntary / optional.

7.It is compulsory for the student to communicate at the beginning of the course if he / she is going to follow the continuous assessment or get to the final exam directly. If the student does not communicate it, it will be assumed that he / she goes directly to the final exam AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SUBMIT / PRESENT TO THE CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES.

8. TO PASS THE COURSE, IT IS NECESSARY TO OBTAIN A FINAL WEIGHTED MINIMUM NOTE OF 5.0 (exam + continuous assessment activities OR makeup exam).

Criteris específics de la nota «No Presentat»:
A student will be considered as "Not submitted" when he/she does not attend either of the continuous assessment activities nor makeup exam.

Once the student has handed in any activity within the continuous assessment, the evaluation will be considered as initiated and all the sections designed in the qualification criteria will be classified as 0 (zero) when not presented and / or not submitted according to the teacher's intructions.

Observacions

The subject has been designed in three parts that, together, seek a self-management of the student. Based on the theoretical framework presented by the teacher, the student must:

1.Complement the theoretical framework with related readings both provided by the teacher and found by the student.

2. Carry out research related to the exposed matter.

3. Make a critical review of the theoretical framework exposed in the classroom.

In order to optimally achieve the objectives of the course, it is recommended the student:

1. Evaluate and use as a theoretical context of the subject the documents identified as basic information (and complementary if you would like to deepen) that you will find on the web of the subject.

2. Identify, filter and use didactic materials of recognized academic prestige when making bibliographic searches and cite them under a validated and unique method.

3. Identify, cite and relate your critical reviews with basic, complementary readings and research materials.

About communication with the teacher:

The responsible teacher is Marta San Millán. The correspondence maintained will always be with this professor and through the institutional email, communicated in the section of notices and news. The answer will be given, whenever possible, within five school days after receiving the email.
The use of institutional mail is specific to the teaching activity and please do not use it other than that established by the UdG.
