This work aims to identify field research methods, to apply research practice to topics in anthropology, and to acquire some skills and tools relating to ethnographic and qualitative methods in health (to know different techniques of data collection, design and planning strategies, the use of qualitative analysis data software and ethical aspects) 60 Students’ class presentations Class presentation in group. This work aims to effectively use information sources in anthropology and to identify ethnographic materials and specified themes about social and cultural issues in health 30 Exposition and study of ethnographic and fieldwork examples in health Discussion and study of ethnographic and fieldwork examples in health. It aims to understand in what way anthropology helps us to better understand cultural and social aspects in health, illness and care processes and can facilitate some effective applications in addressing cultures’ impacts on health 5 Discussion of ethnographic and theoretical films/videos, audios and readings Debate and discussion of ethnographic and theoretical films/videos, audios and key texts in class. CA. Continuous assessment. Research project (60%); teamwork and class presentation (30%); discussion and study of ethnographic and fieldwork examples in Health (5%); discussion of ethnographic and theoretical films/videos, audios and readings (5%). (The sum of all the marks of the continuous assessment must be above 5 out of 10). FA. Final assessment. All students who have not passed the continuous assessment will have a final assessment, consisting of an exam (50%) and an individual work (50%). (The sum of both marks of the final assessment must be above 5 out of 10).
