Qualificació
In the "Examples and study cases" and in the "Classroom simulations" the student will be required to submit some results calculated in the classroom or at home. Brief comments or developments can be also demanded.
The detailed analysis of an element is a reports that must include sound hypothesis, the strategy to solve the problem, the results of hand-made calculations and computer simulations, a thorough analysis of the results and personal conclusions.
Criteris específics de la nota «No Presentat»:
Those students that do not deliver any of the reports will be graded as "No presentat" (NP), which is understood as having abandoned the course.
Avaluació única:
If the student prefers to deliver just the detailed analysis of an element at the end of the course, he/she will be graded according only to this deliverable.
Requisits mínims per aprovar:
A grade of 5 over 10 is required to pass the course. This grade will be the result of a weighting of the activities during the course as prescribed in the grading description.
All reports must be delivered on due time and sufficiently developed so that the ability of the student can be assessed.
Tutoria
There will be specified weekly time frames for on-line tutorships (via Google Meet or any other platform approved by UdG). Electronic mail can be also used to solve questions or doubts and set tutorship appointments out of the specified time frames.
Comunicacio i interacció amb l'estudiantat
Communication with students will be via e-mail and the News forum of the course’s Moodle. Individual on-line meetings will be possible for a personalised monitoring.
The tools to interact with the students are the ones selected by the UdG:
- Classroom direct interaction with the teacher.
- Moodle as the main document repository and for communication support and grading of the course.
- Google Meet or Blackboard Collaborate for teaching and tutorial sessions.
- email and "Comparteix" for written interaction and document sharing.
Observacions
The student should have a basic knowledge of the principles of mechanics, stress and strain calculation, as well as understanding of common machine elements.
It is expected that the student will be following (or had followed in a previous academic year) these courses of the MMMS:
- The finite element method in structural mechanics
- Pre and post-process tools for structural finite element analyses
- Solid mechanics
Class sessions will be given according to the specified timetable and it will be possible to follow them both on-site and on-line (streaming). Those students able to attend classes on-site are encouraged to do so.
Assignatures recomanades
- Eines de pre i post-proces per anàlisis estructurals per elements finits
- El mètode dels elements finits en la mecànica d'estructures
- Mecànica de sòlids
Modificació del disseny
Modificació de les activitats:
As the course is already prepared for on-line teaching, no modification of the teaching activities is foreseen.
Modificació de l'avaluació:
As the course is already prepared for on-line teaching and evaluation, no modification of the evaluation activities is foreseen.
Tutoria i comunicació:
If the evolution of the pandemic results in a less restrictive scenario, the course will continue under the same terms and conditions except for the tutorships, which might take place on-site for on-site students.
