2. Classic methods: Gradient based methods, Lagrange multipliers, Kuhn-Tucker conditions, Penalty methods.
3. Modern methods: Particle Swarm Optimization, Ant Colony Optimitzation, Genetic Algorithms. Metamodels.

Grading
Every proposed exercise should be delivered in a report including the procedure, results and conclusions.
The course work should reflect the theory presented in the course and respect the structure problem-solution method-results-conclusions.
Specific criteria for the "No show" grade:
All the tasks which have some % in the note must be presented. Otherwise the final mark of the course will be Non-marked (NP).
Single Assessment:
Delivery of two reports related to the optimisation of mechanical components. Each report has a weight of 33% in the final mark. The statement will be defined by the professor. Final exam (33% of the final mark).
Minimum requirements to pass:
Per considerar superada l’assignatura, caldrà obtenir una qualificació mínima de 5.0
Mentorship
There will be specified weekly time frames for on-line tutorships (via GoogleMeet or any other platform approved by UdG). Electronic mail can be also used to solve questions or doubts and set tutorship appointments out of the specified times frames.
Communication and interaction with students
Communication with students will be via e-mail and the News forum of the course’s Moodle. Individual on-line meetings will be possible for a personalised monitoring.
Remarks
Basic knowledge on MATLAB, ANSYS and Microsoft EXCEL is required.

As the course is already prepared for on-line teaching, no modification of the teaching activities is foreseen.

As the course is already prepared for on-line teaching and evaluation, no modification of the evaluation activities is foreseen.
Mentoring and communication:
If the evolution of the pandemic results in a less restrictive scenario, the course will continue under the same terms and conditions except for the tutorships, which might take place on-site for on-site students.
