Assessment activities: Description of the activity Assessment Activity % Remediable subject Develop a case study covering the production part of a composite laminate The quality of the manufacturing process of the composite laminate is evaluated 33 No Develop a case study covering the non-destructive inspection part of a composite laminate The quality of the non-destructive testing process of the composite laminate is evaluated 33 No Develop a case study covering the mechanical testing part of a composite laminate The quality of the process for the mechanical characterisation of the composite laminate is evaluated 34 No
Report a feasible production plan to obtain the case study part. Achieve the different milestones of the process - Laminate plan and fibre patterns - Time & Cost evaluation - Production process simulation - Selection of test methods - Non-destructive inspection - Cutting plan - Report of test results Specific criteria for the "No show" grade: An "absent" mark (NP) will be given to those students who have not delivered any of the activities included in the course. Single Assessment: The student will be asked to prepare a project report on the design, manufacturing, inspection and testing of a composite laminate based on the material delivered during the course. Minimum requirements to pass: The minimum mark to pass the course is 5.0 over 10
Tutorships can be either on-line or face-to-face. Electronic mail can be also used to solve questions or doubts and set tutorship appointments out of the specified times frames.
Communication with students will be via e-mail and the News forum of the course’s Moodle. Individual on-line meetings will be possible for a personalised monitoring.
