1. Unit 1 - Changing times. In this module, students will practice some of the parts of the Cambridge exam, focusing on techniques to approach each of the sections: 1.1 Language focus (passives and passives of reporting verbs), 1.2. Vocabulary (Change and figurative language), 1.3. writing paper (part 1), 1.4. reading and use of English
(part 2 and 6), 1.5. Listening (part 3), 1.6. Speaking (part 3 & 4). (Gender Perspective; ODS: 1, 2, 3, 10, 13).
2. Unit 2 - Brave new worlds. In this module, students will practice some of the parts of the Cambridge exam, focusing on techniques to approach each of the sections: 2.1 Language focus (review of future forms and future in the past), 2.2. Vocabulary (Verbs with up-, down-, over- and under-), 2.3. writing paper (part 2 - review), 2.4. reading and use of English
(part 1 and 5), 2.5. Listening (parts 1 and 4), 2.6. Speaking (part 3 & 4). (Gender Perspective; ODS: 7, 9, 11, 12, 13).
3. Unit 3 - Getting through. In this module, students will practice some of the parts of the Cambridge exam, focusing on techniques to approach each of the sections: 3.1 Language focus (conjunctions and discourse markers), 3.2. Vocabulary (expressing feelings, onomatopoeic words, word formation of Nouns), 3.3. writing paper (part 2 - letter/email), 3.4. reading and use of English (part 3 and 7), 3.5. Listening (part 2), 3.6. Speaking (part 2). (Gender Perspective; ODS: 4, 5).
4. Unit 4 - To the market. In this module, students will practice some of the parts of the Cambridge exam, focusing on techniques to approach each of the sections: 4.1 Language focus (determiners and pronouns, reference, substitution and ellipsis), 4.2. Vocabulary (money and describing trends), 4.3. writing paper (part 2 - proposal), 4.4. reading and use of English (part 1 and 8), 4.5. Listening (part 3), 4.6. Speaking (part 3 and 4). (Gender Perspective; ODS: 1, 2, 5, 10, 12).
5. Unit 5 - School of thought. In this module, students will practice some of the parts of the Cambridge exam, focusing on techniques to approach each of the sections: 5.1 Language focus (emphasis with cleft sentences, participle clauses), 5.2. Vocabulary (academic language, the mind and brain, review of affixes in word formation), 5.3. writing paper (part 2 - report), 5.4. reading and use of English (part 2 and 6), 5.5. Listening (parts 2 and 4), 5.6. Speaking (parts 2, 3 and 4). (Gender Perspective; ODS: 4, 5).
Students may opt to follow a final assessment (one final exam) or a continuous assessment system (work and tests) at specific times during the semester. If the final result of the Continuous Assessment is less than 5 (the passing grade), students can take an Extraordinary Exam.
Continuous assessment:
Test 1 - 20%
Test 2 - 20%
Speaking 1 - 10%
Test 3 - 20%
Test 4 - 20%
Speaking 2 - 10%
All tests and exams are corrected according to the Cambridge exams scale.
A minimum of 4 is required in the oral and written part of the assessment in order for a final mark to be generated.
Ordinary and Extraordinary Exams:
Speaking: 20%
Listening: 20%
Reading: 20%
Written part: 40%

Avaluació única:
Students may opt to follow a continuous or final assessment.
Students choosing the final assessment will sit an exam at the end of the academic year in May/June (Convocatòria Ordinària). The exam will have the following parts and percentages:
Oral 20%
Listening 20%
Reading 20%
Written part 40%
If the result of the Final Assessment is below 5 (the passing mark), students will have a chance to take the final annual exam in the official calendar date of “convocatòria extraordinària” established by the University (June or July).
