Lluís Zamora Hernández has a doctorate in biology (2004) and Associate Professor at the University of Girona. He belongs to the Research Group on Continental Aquatic Ecology (GRECO), of the Institute of Aquatic Ecology of the University of Girona. GRECO (http://www.udg.edu/greco) is a large and interdisciplinary group with extensive experience in limnological research. His research experience focuses on the ecology of continental fishes, with special emphasis on the use of the habitat of native species and the impacts related to the interaction of exotic species. In recent years he has focused on aspects of applied ecology for the management and conservation of the European eel (Anguilla anguilla). He has published over 60 papers, including 24 in Science Citation Index journals. He has co-directed 3 doctoral theses and participated in 22 national and international projects.
