Silvia Bolognesi is a postdoctoral researcher (Juan de la Cierva Formación fellowship) in the LEQUIA-UdG group. She is an environmental engineer by formation, and she holds a double doctorate obtained at University of Pavia (Italy) and Universitat de Girona in March 2021. Throughout her doctoral training, she investigated microbial electrochemical technologies for biofuels and bioenergy production from wastewater and CO2, specializing in the coupling of microbial fuel cells and microbial electrosynthesis with microalgae, and CO2 capture and conversion into biofuels. Her current research interest is investigating CO2 bio electroconversion into methane as biogas upgrading/energy storage technology. She attended several conferences and international meetings about relevant topics in the water/energy sector. She has 15 papers published on international peer-reviewed journals and contributed to 3 book chapters. She is part of the Steering Committee of IWA-Young Water Professionals Italy.
