Dr. Nil Roig has recently joined us as a new member of the Institute of Computational Chemistry and Catalysis (IQCC). Dr. Nil did his undergraduate studies in chemistry and his master studies in advanced catalysis and molecular modelling here, at the university of Girona. Afterwards, he moved to the University of Warwick to undertake his doctoral studies entitled “molecular dynamic simulations and energy decomposition analysis of late transition metal pincer complexes and supporting experimental work” under the supervision of Prof. Adrian B. Chaplin and Prof. Mercedes Alonso (co-tutelle with the Vrije Universiteit Brussel). After graduating in 2025, he moved back to Catalonia, and since Febraury 2026 he has joined the DiMoCat group as a postdoctoral researcher under the supervision of Dr. Anna Pla-Quintana and Prof. Miquel Solà, investigating transition metal catalysed cycloaddition and cycloisomerization reactions, by combining experimental and computational approaches.Welcome Nil and good luck!
