On 17 June, Aqza Elza John, PhD student at the IQCC under the supervision of Dr. Ferran Feixas and Dr. Marc Garcia-Borràs, received the Best Presentation Award at the VIII Jornades Predoctorals UdG (JODOC) 2025, held at the University of Girona.Her presentation, entitled “Unraveling electrostatic contributions on the catalytic efficiency of laboratory evolved retroaldolases”, highlighted her current PhD work on the computational modeling of enzymatic mechanisms, demonstrating both the scientific depth and originality.The Jornades Predoctorals UdG (JODOC) are organized annually by the UdG School of Doctoral Studies and, this year, included IQCC members Jonnely Luizaga, Janet Sánchez, and Thalía Ortiz as part of the organizing team.
