The International Society for Gesture Studies-Catalonia (ISGS-Catalonia) is an affiliated Hub of the ISGS. It is coordinated by a steering group of researchers from five Catalan universities: Universitat de Girona, Universitat de Lleida, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and Universitat Rovira i Virgili. Our research member, Dr. Ingrid Vilà-Giménez, is part of the Hub’s steering committee (you can view all members here).

ISGS-Catalonia aims to promote gesture studies and foster research collaborations both within Catalonia and internationally, across a range of disciplines including—but not limited to—linguistics, sign language research, education, psychology, and communication studies.
