Dr Miquel Llorente, one of the principal researchers at the Comparative Minds research group at the University of Girona, has participated as a primatology expert in RTVE’s programme El Escarabajo Verde, in the episode titled “De lo innato y lo adquirido”. This episode, produced in the context of International Women’s Day (8 March), explores a fundamental question in biology and psychology: to what extent is behaviour genetically determined, and how much is shaped by the environment? Drawing on primate research, Dr Llorente analyses the interaction between innate factors and acquired experiences, highlighting their impact on the evolution and development of behaviour in both humans and other species. We invite the scientific community and the general public to watch the full episode at the link above and reflect on the role of primatology in understanding human behaviour.
