2. <b>The home:</b> asking about prices, communicating by phone; talking about the characteristics of private homes; understanding advertisements; express likes and dislikes.

3. <b>Free time:</b> talking about our free time and which activities we enjoy doing; talking about (favourite) food.

4. <b>Travelling:</b> talking about means of transport and trips; asking about opening hours; talking about festivals and public holidays, seasons of the year; talking about past events and activities.

5. <b>Getting around the city:</b> finding your way in a city; places, urban facilities; indicating location and directions; asking about and giving information on furniture and equipment.

6. <b>Health:</b> offering help, responding to requests, making appointments; talking about wishes and plans; parts of the body; talking about health conditions; describing appearance; giving and understanding advice and instructions; understanding advertisements for spas and therapies; requesting written information and making appointments.

7. <b>Household and office tasks:</b> talking about problems, expressing opinions and criticism, describing people.

Activitats d'avaluació:

Students are expected to follow Continuous Assessment (CA).

Continuous Assessment: 100 points
Speaking: 20 points: oral exam, presentations, recordings, tutorials, and attendance. 100% attendance in class is expected.
Writing: 20 points: writings inside and outside the classroom, and their correction.
Listening: 20 points: listenings inside and outside the classroom.
Reading: 20 points: Reading inside and outside the classroom.
Use of German: 20 points: use of German inside and outside the classroom.
To pass the subject, the student must obtain a minimum of 50 points out of the possible 100 in each category.

Each of these parts may be retaken on the scheduled dates for the resit exam.

In the event a student fails one or more skills, after averaging, the highest possible mark given will be a 4/10.


Grading Criteria for single-session evaluation

The single-session evaluation is an exceptional assessment system and must be explicitly requested, and the Faculty needs to give its approval.

For the single assessment, the student must complete the following exam tests on the specified days and times (see Exam and Retake Calendar).

Single-session Assessment Exam: 100 points
Students granted Avaluació Única by the Faculty of Tourism will be evaluated through a 5-part exam calculated as follows:

Speaking: 20 points
Writing: 20 points
Listening: 20 points
Reading: 20 points
Use of German: 20 points

Students must pass each of the 5 areas with a minimum mark of 5/10.
Any student who fails one or more parts of the Avaluació Única Test can retake the failed part(s) on the scheduled dates for the resit exam (Examen de Recuperació) to reattempt to pass the course.

In the event a student fails one or more skills, after averaging, the highest possible mark given will be a 4/10.

Criteris específics de la nota «No Presentat»:
A student will not be assessed (i.e. is "no presentat") due to not having completed less than 50% of the continuous assessment activities (weighted accordingly, if applicable), or if they have not taken the single assessment.

Avaluació única:
Students who, for justified reasons, cannot attend classes must request to be assessed by single-session evaluation (Avaluació Única) at the Tourism Faculty's Academic Office within the deadlines established at the beginning of the semester. The Faculty must give its approval.

Requisits mínims per aprovar:
To pass the suject, students must attain a minimum mark of 5/10 in each of the five areas, and also a five overall.

At the end of the course you will be able to understand basic concepts in spoken and written German and to express yourselves in simple everyday situations.
