Doctor en Matemàtiques per la UAB a l'any 2003, i professor de la UdG des de 1995. Àmbits de recerca: sistemes dinàmics discrets, dinàmica combinatòria i topològica, xarxes complexes. Investigador en actiu amb quatre sexennis de recerca. Autor de diversos articles, tots publicats en revistes indexades al JCR: Proceedings of the Americal Mathematical Society, International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, Physica D, Discrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems, Annales de l'Institut Fourier, Ergodic Theory and Dynamical Systems, Physical Review E, Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, Scientific Reports, Transactions of the American Mathematical Society, Geometria Dedicata, Fractal and Fractional, Journal of Theoretical Biology. Intensa activitat de divulgació científica en forma de conferències i cursos. Autor dels llibres «Introducció a la Criptografia» i «L'art de la comunicació secreta».
