Born in Girona in 1971, he earned a MSc in Agricultural Engineering at the University of Lleida (UdL-ETSEA), where he later obtained his PhD in 2006 under the supervision of Professors Javier Barragán and Francisco Ramírez de Cartagena. Since 2015, he has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical, Agricultural and Food Technology Engineering at the University of Girona (UdG). He teaches in the Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering at the Polytechnic School and in the Master’s Degree in Water Resources Science and Technology at the Faculty of Sciences. He also actively participates in teaching innovation projects and is a member of the Teaching Innovation Network of the Institute of Education Sciences at UdG, with which he received the Jaume Vicens Vives 2025 distinction for the AVATREQ Project (Assessment of Teamwork). His research focuses on irrigation engineering and water management, with particular interest in water reuse, the improvement of filtration systems, and the sustainable management of water in rice agroecosystems. He is a member of the Research Group on Irrigation Engineering and Management and currently coordinates the international project PROMEDRICE, within the PRIMA programme, which brings together ten institutions from five Mediterranean countries with the aim of promoting sustainable agricultural practices and protecting water resources. He has published more than seventy scientific articles in leading journals and serves as editor of Irrigation Science and Agriculture. In recognition of his academic and research career, he obtained the Advanced Research Accreditation from AQU Catalunya in 2020.
