After obtaining my PHD on the physical Limnology of Lake Banyoles (1989), I was the promoter
of the Environmental Physics Group at the University of Girona, a group that studies the
Physics of aquatic and atmospheric processes; This group has been considered a consolidated
quality group at different proposal calls of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
I have been the first Coordinator of the Degree in Environmental Sciences at the University of
Girona, a position I held for 7 years (1993-2000), and one of the promoters of these studies.
During the last 6 years I have been the director of the Physics Department and I have been a
member of the Dean's team of the Faculty of Sciences (1993-2000).
I have specialized in topics related to Physical Limnology, Hydrodynamics of lakes and
reservoirs, Hydrodynamics of wetlands and water quality models
I have supervised 5 PHD on topics of my specialty and I am a member of the scientific
committee Workshop: Physical Processes in natural waters.
Also, I have presented communications to more than 60 international congressesI have been
invited by different Universities to give lectures. The most recents: University of western
Australian (july 2019) and Tahoe Environmental researc center (July 2023)
I have been reviewer of some of the most prestigious journals in my field: Water Resources
Research, Limnology and Oceanography, Journal of Colloid and Interface Science,
Water Research, Estuarine Coastal and shelf Science, Hydrological Processes, Journal of
Hydraulic Enginnering, Ecohydrology & Hydrobiology, Environmental fluid mechanics
