Silvia de Riba Mayoral holds a PhD in Arts and Education from the University of Barcelona and is a tenure-track lecturer in the field of Arts Education at the Faculty of Education and Psychology, University of Girona. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Communication from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and a master’s degree in Visual Arts and Education from the University of Barcelona. Her research focuses on arts-based education and filmmaking as pedagogy, with particular attention to social justice, gender equality, and affective relations. Her work is grounded in feminist new materialist perspectives, the affective turn, and postqualitative inquiry. She is currently a member of the GREPAI research group, the teaching innovation group Interdisciplinary Intersections and Didactic Connections in Teacher Education, a member of the UdG Gender Perspective Teaching Innovation Network, and serves as Junior Editor of Matter: Journal of New Materialist Research.
