Joana holds a degree (2003) and a PhD (2011) in Geology from the University of Barcelona. Specialized in structural geology, 3D reconstruction of geological structures, seismic interpretation, regional geology, natural resources, and climate change. Between 2016 and 2025, she worked in project management and knowledge transfer in the fields of geology, hydrogeology and natural resources, water management, climate change, and energy transition. She began as a research promoter at GEOCAMB (University of Girona), later became coordinator of the UdG Water Campus, and worked as a project manager at the Ecoserveis association and the Catalan Water Partnership. She is currently a lecturer in the Department of Environmental Sciences.
