Project:
The Broadway Project intends to procure innovative designs and common standard solutions to implement pan-European innovative interoperable public safety broadband services, systems (interconnection between future national public safety broadband mobile networks). The pilot will consist of several different opperational scenarios across Europe, between bordering, but also non-bordering countries. A single pan-Europeanpilot will be implemented as a service and will operate as a common, transparent, wide area broadband mobile network with mutual interconnection betweenalloperationalscenarios. The Pre-CommercialProcurement (PCP)process will be executedin three phases:
Phase 1: Solution Design
Phase 2: Solution Prototype
Phase 3: Pilot.
The first phase of PCP process is a feasibility study of the selected technologies and proposals. Then, the most promising concepts will be developedinto well-defined prototypesin phase 2. Phase 3 aimsto verify and compare the first end products in real-life situations. Finally, the selectedprototypeswillbe tested.
