The Institute of Catalan Language and Culture (ILCC) of the University of Girona (UdG) has published an expression of interest to host applications for the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026 within the Research Group on Modern, Contemporary and Literary Heritage Literature at the UdG. The proposed line of research focuses on the study of the life and works of Garcilaso de la Vega in the context of Renaissance Europe, with particular attention to his Italian experience. The project adopts a multidisciplinary approach that integrates literary studies, philology—Spanish, Italian, Classical and Neo-Latin—cultural history and digital humanities, with the aim of situating literary production within its intellectual, social and political frameworks. In this context, special emphasis is placed on textual criticism, the circulation of classical and humanist models, and the relationships between Iberian and Italian literary traditions, as well as on archival research aimed at reassessing the poet’s biography and the chronology of his works. Within this framework, researchers are invited to submit innovative proposals in areas such as Renaissance cultural exchanges between Spain and Italy, classical reception, philology and text editing, Neo-Latin studies, digital humanities applied to early texts, and the analysis of literature in its historical and cultural contexts. The project offers a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment, with a growing commitment to the integration of digital tools. Eligible applicants are doctoral degree holders with up to eight years of postdoctoral research experience who meet the mobility requirements established by the call, whose deadline is 9 September 2026. Interested candidates must submit a curriculum vitae, a letter of interest and a letter of recommendation by 1 June 2026.
