(Analyse and develop optimisation methods based on synchronous and asynchronous parallelisation). (Develop real-time image processing applications using FPGAs).
Acquire a good knowledge on Real-Time Image Processing architectures: basic algorithms, program optimisation and programming methodologies at both theoretical and practical levels. CE1. Understand the image acquisition process (cameras and illumination) and propose suitable solutions for given imaging problems. CE2. Understand, develop and implement different linear and non-linear image processing algorithms in real-time architectures. CE3. Obtain a good knowledge of Celoxica's Handel-C and PixelStreams for developing real-time image processing applications using FPGAs. CE4. Obtain a good knowledge of real-time programming state of the art acquisition systems (i.e. IP cameras)
