Description:
This course focuses on the importance of model-learning concerning psychological aspects within a Physiotherapy framework: here lies the critical importance of this course, as a paramount tool for studying and understanding (in a Health context) the interaction-processes of people amongst themselves and with regards to the environment. In addition to providing students with basic communication strategies to establish a good relationship between the physiotherapist and the patient.

Grading

Important: To qualify for the final grade average, students must meet a minimum score requirement on the multiple-choice section of the final exam.

IN-CLASS EXERCISES & ESSAY: 40 points (20 points each)

FINAL EXAM:

Multiple-choice questions (40 points; negative marking applies).

Open-ended questions (20 points).
TOTAL: 60 points

Students who score at least 50 points on the combined results of the final exam and the exercises/essay are exempt from taking the BCE.

BASIC COMPETENCIES EXAM: Students who fail the course may take an open-ended "basic competencies exam." This exam covers ALL course content and will worth 100% of the final grade.

Specific criteria for the "No show" grade:
Students will be considered as NOT PRESENTED if they do not attend the continuous evaluation or the BCE.

Single Assessment:
The primary assessment method at EUSES -center attached to the UdG- is continuous evaluation. Students who prefer a single comprehensive assessment must submit their UEP (Unique Evaluation Pathway) request to coordination@euses.cat and to acabane@euses.cat within the first two weeks of the semester.

Minimum requirements to pass:
A minimum grade of 5.0 out of 10 in the continuous evaluation or the BCE.

Mentorship

Tutoring sessions will be conducted both in person in the assigned classrooms and virtually.

Communication and interaction with students

For private student matters, the primary method of communication will be via the professor's email: acabane@euses.cat.

For questions regarding course content, the primary communication channel will be the Moodle forum.

- Identifying the psychological factors influencing the health status of individuals, families and the community, health education and the learning process itself throughout life.
- Understanding the psychological aspects of the physiotherapist-patient relationship.
