Activitats d'avaluació:

Continuous Assessment (Convocatòria Ordinària Continuada):
In order to follow the continuous assessment, students need to follow the assessment activities described above in the “Activitats d’avaluació” section. Continuous assessment will follow the weighting specified there.

Minimum requirements to pass: In order to pass the continuous assessment, the weighted average mark of all assessment activities must be at least 5. If the student does not pass the continuous assessment, they will have a chance to take a resit examination (Convocatòria Extraordinària).


One-Off Assessment (Convocatòria Ordinària Única):
This type of assessment is for students who opt for a single one-off assessment (giving up their continuous assessment rights). The One-Off Assessment is a test which combines all contents and skills of the course, and which is worth 100% of the mark, weighted as described in the “Avaluació única” section.

Minimum requirements to pass: In order to pass the one-off assessment, the weighted average mark must be at least 5. If the student does not pass the one-off assessment, they will have a chance to take a resit examination (Convocatòria Extraordinària).


Resit Examination (Convocatòria Extraordinària):
Students who have not passed the “Convocatòria Ordinària” (through Continuous Assessment or One-Off Assessment) will have to sit a test which combines all contents and skills of the course, and which will be worth 100% of the mark, weighted in the same way as the “Avaluació Única”.

Minimum requirements to pass: In order to pass, the weighted average mark must be at least 5.

Avaluació única:
One-off Assessment requirements follow the Universitat de Girona norms:

"Es podrà sol·licitar l’avaluació única per a una o més assignatures quan la persona interessada consideri que no pot sotmetre’s a avaluació continuada per:
1. Incompatibilitats laborals irresolubles (no es consideren les pràctiques externes).
2. Problemes de salut de llarga durada.
3. Motius familiars greus.
4. Existència de dificultats acadèmiques rellevants per poder seguir l’avaluació continuada d’assignatures no superades i matriculades en segona convocatòria o posterior.

Els estudiants interessats han de sol·licita-ho a través de la secretaria en xarxa, adjuntant la documentació pertinent, i els terminis seran:

Students choosing the final assessment will sit an exam at the end of the academic year in May/June (Convocatòria Ordinària). The exam will have the following parts and percentages:

Oral 20%
Listening 20%
Reading 20%
Written part 40%

If the result of the Final Assessment is below 5 (the passing mark), students will have a chance to take the final annual exam in the official calendar date of “convocatòria extraordinària” established by the University (June or July).

Requisits mínims per aprovar:
In order to pass the course, the minimum required mark is 5.

Teachers will have specific tutoring hours, which will be posted on Moodle and here: https://mediterrani.com/ca/serveis-academics/tutories-personalitzades/. Tutoring sessions might take place face-to-face or online, as requested by students.

Face-to-face ones will take place at: Despatx Idiomes - c/ Consell de Cent, 143, 08015 Barcelona.

Virtual ones will take place either through Moodle, email, or platforms like Google Meet, Teams, or Zoom.

It is advisable to set up an appointment via email with the teacher to ensure their availability.

General information will be shared via Moodle. Teachers might contact students via Moodle or via email. Teacher’s emails will be found on Moodle.

The course will take Gender Perspective into account in all units.

Attendance will be taken in class.


Students are advised against plagiarism or any form of cheating. Any proven case of plagiarism or cheating will automatically be marked as a “0” (zero).


Continuous assessment students who have missed an exam or assessed task will be assessed on those contents on the corresponding official date provided by the university ("Convocatòria Ordinària"). They will have 2 hours to sit all the tests they missed.


Exam dates will be announced in due time.


*IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE AS CANDIDATES FOR THE OFFICIAL CAMBRIDGE EXAM, STUDENTS NEED TO ACHIEVE A MINIMUM MARK OF 60% IN THE MOCK EXAM.
