Qualificació

Single assessment. You must pass an exam for all topics. If you do not pass the exam in the ordinary call, you can take it in the extraordinary session (or extraordinary call.
Continuous assessment. All assessment elements must be completed. As detailed in the final project and individual case study, a minimum score of 5 is required to be counted against the remaining assessment elements. If necessary, everything (except for class activities, exercises, and other items, and attendance) can be repeated in the extraordinary session (or extraordinary call)

According to regulations of the University of Girona:
The qualification of "Not Presented" exhausts the qualification call for the purposes provided for in the regulations for Permanence and progression in undergraduate studies of the University of Girona.

Avaluació única:
A single assessment may be requested for one or more subjects when the interested person considers that they cannot undergo continuous assessment due to:
b1. Irresolvable work incompatibilities (external internships are not considered).
b2. Long-term health problems.
b3. Serious family reasons.
b4. Existence of relevant academic difficulties to be able to continue the continuous assessment of subjects not passed and enrolled in the second or subsequent call.
Interested students must request it through the online secretariat, attaching the relevant documentation, and the deadlines will be:
First semester subjects: 13/10/2025

Requisits mínims per aprovar:
The minimum qualification to pass the subject is to obtain a minimum of 5 in the overall grade with the parameters established in the previous section.

Tutoria


Tutoring will be held on Mondays from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM by appointment via email in Espai coEUM, in tourism and business office, c/ Consell de Cent, 143. 08015 Barcelona. It is necessary to make an appointment in advance, via mail (parastoo.moghaddam@eum.es)

The means of communication that will be used are the following:
- MOODLE (schedules, information on activities/work, resources, etc.) communications of any new developments or variations in the programming.
- MOODLE MESSAGE reminders of deliveries and any necessary communications

Observacions

The gender perspective is latent in all topics and it will be required that each work/activity incorporate a point on this aspect. At the same time, each assignment/activity will be asked to consider the SDGs. Since they may cover diverse topics, it is not possible to establish in advance which specific SDGs will be addressed.

Unit 1: Introduction to Tourism 4.0 and Digital Transformation

SDGs: SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure)
Soft Skills: Critical thinking, communication, continuous and independent learning

Overview of Industry 4.0 and its impact on the tourism sector. Definition of Tourism 4.0 as a paradigm shift driven by data, connectivity, automation, and innovation. Introduction to digital transformation processes in tourism.

Unit 2: Core Technologies of Tourism 4.0

SDGs: SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure)
Soft Skills: Creativity and innovation, problem-solving, flexibility, analytical thinking

Analysis of key enabling technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, cloud computing, robotics, and immersive technologies (AR/VR). Evaluation of their applications, opportunities, and limitations in tourism.

Unit 3: Innovation, Customer Experience and Future Challenges

SDGs: SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions)
Soft Skills: Critical thinking, ethical behaviour, responsibility, creativity and innovation, flexibility

Exploration of digital customer experience, platform economies, new business models, and innovation strategies. Critical analysis of ethical issues, cybersecurity, labour transformation, sustainability impacts, and future trends.

Unit 4: Tourism 4.0 in Practice: Business and Industry Transformation

SDGs: SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure)
Soft Skills: Teamwork, communication, adaptability, problem-solving

Study of how Tourism 4.0 transforms tourism industries, including travel, hospitality, gastronomy, transport, and intermediaries. Analysis of real business cases and digital transformation strategies in tourism organizations.

SCENARIO 2: BLENDED LEARNING

Continuous Regular Assessment

Intended for in-person students. Student performance will be assessed based on their completion of case studies, exercises, and assignments carried out during the semester via :
Minimum requirements for passing: To pass the continuous assessment, in addition to achieving a weighted average of five points across all grades, the score on the theoretical-practical assessment (exam) must be at least five points. If a student does not pass during the regular exam period, they may retake the exam during the make-up exam period.

Single Regular Call

This exam will be taken by both distance-learning students and those who have opted for the single exam (waiving continuous assessment). It will consist of a theoretical-practical exam covering the entire course content, which will account for 100% of the final grade.

Minimum requirements for passing: You must earn a score of at least 5.00 on the theoretical-practical exam.If you do not pass this exam session, you may retake it during the make-up exam session.

Extraordinary Call

Students (both on-campus and online) who have not passed the regular exam session (whether in the continuous or single-session format) must take a theoretical-practical exam covering the entire syllabus, which will account for 100% of the final grade.
Minimum requirements for passing: a score of at least 5.00 points must be obtained on the theoretical-practical exams.


In this scenario, assessment exams are scheduled to be held in person (for both the regular and special exam sessions), unless a lockdown is in effect on the dates of the exams.


SCENARIO 3: 100% ONLINE INSTRUCTION

Continuous Ordinary Call
Intended for on-campus students. Student performance will be assessed based on their completion of case studies, exercises, and assignments carried out during the semester via :

Monographic assignment (accounting for 30% of the grade).
Theoretical-practical assessment (70% of the grade). This assessment will be conducted using the Moodleplatform, ensuring that students receive different exams in which they must answer competency-based questions.


Minimum requirements for passing: To pass the continuous assessment, in addition to achieving a weighted average of five points across all grades, the score on the theoretical-practical assessment must be at least five points. If a student does not pass this session, they may retake the exam during the make-up session.



Single Ordinary Call

This session is for both distance learners and those who have opted for the single assessment (waiving the continuous assessment). It will consist of a final theoretical-practical exam (100% of the grade). This exam will be administered using the Moodle platform, ensuring that students receive different exams in which they must answer competency-based questions.



Minimum requirements for passing: a score of at least 5.00 points must be obtained on the theoretical-practical exam. If a student does not pass this exam, they may retake it during the make-up exam period.
