• Reconèixer els elements essencials de la professió mèdica, que incloguin els principis ètics, les responsabilitats legals i l'exercici professional centrat en el pacient
• Desenvolupar la pràctica professional amb respecte pels altres professionals de la salut, adquirint habilitats de treball en equip
• Comunicar-se de manera efectiva i clara, tant oralment com per escrit, amb els pacients, els familiars, els mitjans de comunicació i altres professionals

1. Develop the skills of observation, description, and interpretation

2. Describe how artists portray health issues. Identify differences between artists of different genders, as well as whether the way health is represented changes when people of different genders are represented.

3. Communicate what has been observed using knowledge of the basic plastic elements of art. Review the construction of these elements and analyze the place of women in art and their contribution to art theories.

4. Relate health problems to their social and historical contexts. Understand these historical contexts regarding the role of women and how health and disease have been considered for the different sexes and genders throughout the different historical periods and in the different social groups.

5. Develop critical thinking and analytical skills. Include a critical view of the role of women in the medical profession and their place as patients.

Activitats d'avaluació:

The PBL sessions count as a 60% of the total grade. They can not be re-taken and a qualification below 50/100 means that the course is not aproved.
The PBL exam counts as 40% of the total qualification, divided in 8% the first part and 32% the second part. Both parts can be retaken once.

In the case of retaking the PBL exam, the qualification for these/this can not be higher than 50% of the maximum qualification. In case that the remade work is passed, this qualification will be averaged with the qualification obtained in the PBL sessions evaluation, according to the established percentage.

ACTUACIONS FRAUDULENTES:
Si en qualsevol tipus d'activitat acadèmica es detecten actuacions fraudulentes (utilització d'informació sense autorització, utilització d'informació falsa, utilització de dispositius no autoritzats, suplantació de la identitat, plagis totals o parcials, compra i venda de proves, pràctiques i treballs, etc) l'estudiantat implicat suspendrà automàticament l'assignatura amb independència del procés disciplinari que es pugui seguir contra l’estudiant infractor (article 21 de Normativa reguladora dels processos d’avaluació i qualificació dels estudiants, aprovada en el Consell de Govern en la sessió 11/2019, de 16 de desembre de 2019 (eBOU-1751).

Not attending the PBL tutorials

Avaluació única:
La normativa d’avaluació única s’estableix en base a la Normativa reguladora dels processos d’avaluació i qualificació dels estudiants, aprovada en el Consell de Govern en la sessió 11/2019, de 16 de desembre de 2019 (eBOU-1751), i a la resolució de la Comissió de Govern de la Facultat de Medicina del 15 de setembre de 2020.
L’estudiantat podrà acollir-se excepcionalment a l’avaluació única. En acollir-s’hi renuncia a l’avaluació continuada. El punt 2 de l’article 8 de la resolució de la Comissió de Govern de la Facultat de Medicina del 15 de setembre de 2020 estableix que es podrà sol·licitar l’avaluació única quan la persona interessada consideri que no pot sotmetre’s a avaluació continuada per esdeveniments sobrevinguts, com ara problemes de salut, motius familiars greus o problemes d’altra índole de llarga durada.
Els i les estudiants que decideixin sol·licitar avaluació única ho faran mitjançant comunicació presentada al registre de la Secretaria Acadèmica, fent constar en l’imprès corresponent els mòduls pels quals demana l’esmentada avaluació única. No s’hi podran acollir els i les estudiants que ja s’hagin presentat a les avaluacions realitzades. El punt 3 de l’article 8 estableix que les sol·licituds d’avaluació única s’hauran de presentar com a molt tard una setmana abans de l’acabament del mòdul. En el cas que l’estudiant hagi assistit a un nombre igual o superior als 2/3 de les sessions ABP del mòdul corresponent i que no hagi comunicat res en sentit contrari, les tutories ABP seran avaluades. Les absències justificades a les sessions ABP seran considerades dins dels 2/3 esmentats,.
En aquest mòdul, l'avaluació única consistirà en un examen ABP. La primera part serà un treball escrit sobre una obra d'arts plàstiques relacionada amb la medicina. La segona part consistirà en una presentació oral d'aquest treball. La primera part comptarà un 30% i la segona un 70% de la nota. Serà necessari aprovar totes dues parts per separat.

Requisits mínims per aprovar:
To pass this subject, a minimum qualification of 50% of the maximum grade is necessary. The global grade will result from the weighted average of the PBL tutorial evaluation and the PBL exam. To pass each part with 50% of the maximum grade is not requested. However, a minimum of 50% of the total grade must be obtained in the PBL tutorial evaluation.

The students can request a one-to-one meeting with their tutor or the coordinator for anything related to their study. These tutorials can be on-site or on-line and must be arranged with the tutor previously by e-mail.

Communication with students will be performed either via e-mail or Moodle. Interaction with students will be either on-site or by videoconferences.
The institutional e-mail, which appears in the elective's information is validated as a communication tool between teachers and students.

The act of “seeing” is inseparable from medical training. Physicians are constantly required to “look for” signs and symptoms from the human body, describe what is being observed, and make diagnosis. The skills of observation, description, and interpretation of visual information are inherent in the artistic creative process and art appreciation. Through the examination of artworks, this course aims to improve the students’ visual literacy and attention to details, and to foster the ability to transfer these skills to the clinical setting. In addition, the students will be exposed to artistic depictions of health-related issues in different social and historical backgrounds.
