Writing activities Written expression activities carried out in class and at home (texts produced and corrected by students) will have a variable weighting. Two submissions of each written assignment will be required. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) or machine translation (MT) is PROHIBITED. That said, the use of AI, MT, or dictionaries is allowed to look up words or expressions in the case of homework writing tasks.

Throughout the semester, students will be required to read a compulsory text/story, which will be assessed by means of an exercise during the final exam.

Activities to develop linguistic skills (Moodle quizzes and digital workbook exercises) It is necessary to complete a series of quizzes and lessons on Moodle, as well as the digital Inspire 1 workbook for each unit. Qualificació

Students are expected to follow Continuous Assessment (CA).

For each skill:
– The results of the Moodle quizzes, Moodle lessons, and workbook activities will account for 10% of the final continuous-assessment grade.
– The results of the ongoing progress tests will account for 10% of the final continuous-assessment grade.
– The results of the mid-term examinations will account for 30% of the final continuous-assessment grade.
– The results of the final assessment examinations will account for 50% of the final continuous-assessment grade.

To pass the subject, the student must obtain a minimum of 5/10 in each of the five areas.


Each of these parts may be retaken on the scheduled dates for the resit exam. Each of these components may be retaken on the dates and times stipulated in the Faculty of Tourism’s official examination calendar.

In the event a student fails one or more skills, after averaging, the highest possible mark given will be a 4/10.


Single-session evaluation:


The single-session evaluation is an exceptional assessment system and must be explicitly requested, and the Faculty needs to give its approval.

For the single assessment, the student must complete the following exam tests on the specified days and times (see "programme du cours on Moodle).

Single-session Assessment Exam: 10 points
Students granted Avaluació Única by the Faculty of Tourism will be evaluated through a 5-part exam calculated as follows:

Speaking
Writing
Listening
Reading
Linguistic skills (grammar and vocabulary)


Students must pass each of the 5 areas with a minimum mark of 5/10
Any student who fails one or more parts of the Avaluació Única Test can retake the failed part(s) on the scheduled dates for the resit exam (Examen de Recuperació) to reattempt to pass the course.

In the event a student fails one or more skills, after averaging, the highest possible mark given will be a 4/10.

Fraudulent Conduct

Any action intended to gain an unfair advantage in an assessment activity will be considered fraudulent conduct, including:

- Copying, in whole or in part, of coursework or examinations.
- Plagiarising texts, ideas, data or materials without proper citation.
- The use or possession of unauthorised devices or materials during assessments.
- Receiving unauthorised help from third parties.
- Impersonation or any other act that compromises academic integrity.

In accordance with the UdG regulations, fraudulent conduct will result in a failing (0) grade for the assessment in question, without prejudice to any possible disciplinary action that may be taken.


Verification of authorship

In cases where the teaching staff have doubts about the authorship of any assessment, the student may be summoned for a face-to-face or synchronous interview (which may be recorded), with the aim of verifying the student's knowledge and skills and ensuring the authenticity of the assessment. If it is not possible to guarantee that the student is the author of the test, it will be marked as failed.


Use of generative artificial intelligence tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini and similar) as well as the use of machine translation:

-Marked tasks (the exams for Writing, Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Vocabulary and Structures: the use of these is strictly prohibited
-Oral tasks at home: You must ensure you use all the vocabulary and structures required by the tasks. It is important that the recording is not read out and that the video is not a montage. It must be a single recording; you cannot stitch several videos together.
-Written tasks at home: Prohibited. However, the use of AI, MT or dictionaries is permitted to look up words or expressions.
-Moodle quizzes at home (Reading, Listening, Vocabulary and Structures): Prohibited. However, the use of AI, MT or dictionaries is permitted to look up words or expressions.







Criteris específics de la nota «No Presentat»:
A student will not be assessed (i.e. is "no presentat") due to not having completed less than 50% of the continuous assessment activities (weighted accordingly, if applicable), or if they have not taken the single assessment.

Avaluació única:
Students who, for justified reasons, cannot attend classes must request to be assessed by single-session evaluation (Avaluació Única) at the Tourism Faculty's Academic Office within the deadlines established at the beginning of the semester. The Faculty must give its approval.

Students are advised to follow the weekly guidelines outlined in the "travail personnel de la semaine" document posted on the Moodle forum in order to complete the assigned tasks (Moodle quizzes and lessons, workbook exercises, etc.). It is also recommended that students arrange an in-person or virtual tutorial session with the teacher.

Requisits mínims per aprovar:
To be eligible to sit the final assessment , students must:

a) attend at least 80% of classes. Otherwise, they will be required to take the resit examination.
b) complete the workbook. Otherwise, they will be required to retake the component corresponding to linguistic competence.


To pass the suject , students must:
