Assessment activities:

A) Participation:
Active participation in the discussions held during the seven sessions of the course. 15%

B) Critical reading discussions:
Critical oral reviews of the compulsory readings included in the Moodle platform for each session. In each of the sessions a few of you will be asked to critically explain and review the reading of the day. All of you will be asked to participate in at least one of the sessions. 30%

C) Portfolio
Course portfolio containing personal reflections and activities on the course sessions. In each of the sessions an activity/question for reflection/prompt will be suggested for your portfolio. In addition to this minimum content, other activities, readings and content can be added to your portfolio, both suggested by the lecturers and by yourself.

The format of the portfolio is completely free and original formats are highly encouraged. Examples of portfolio formats can be: text documents, presentations and visual formats, video format, web pages or combinations of different formats. 55%

Specific criteria for the "No show" grade:
Students who do not present either of the two activities or who do not attend the minimum number of sessions (not opting for the single assessment system) will be marked as 'not presented' or 'absent'.

Single Assessment:
For those who opt for the single assessment evaluation system, evaluation will consist of:

1. An exam (70%)
2. Short essays/ Critical commentaries of five of the compulsory readings + Oral presentation of one of the essays (30%)

* Students need to attend a minimum of 5 sessions to be evaluated.
* All the evaluation activities need a grade of 5 to pass the course.

Relevant information for students will be communicated during in-person sessions and/or via email.

For students who choose the single assessment system, a specific online forum will be provided where all relevant information regarding the course will be communicated.

It is recommended to read the bibliography previously provided and the class attendance and participation in the debates
