Since 2022, Associate Professor in the Serra Húnter Program of the Generalitat de Catalunya at the University of Girona, which he joined in 2021. Member of the research group "Socioenvironmental change" (SAMBI) of the UdG and of the consolidated research group "Water, tourism, territory and sustainability" (GRATTS). He has participated in competitive national and international research projects related to water management, climate change, tourism and land use planning. He is currently a researcher on the project “Adaptation to the risks associated with climate change in tourist areas of the Mediterranean coast: perception, incentives and barriers (RISKadapT)” (PID2019-104480GB-I00)
He has developed research in the fields of landscape ecology, water resource management, spatial planning and political ecology. As a result of this work, he has published some thirty research articles in specialized journals and book chapters. His results have been presented at dozens of conferences. He has carried out research stays in the United States (Clark University), France (Université Paris 7), the United Kingdom (Newcastle University) and Austria (Salzburg Universität). He has directed multiple doctoral theses and master's theses.
His professional career includes the execution of works for entities such as the Landscape Observatory of Catalonia, Girona City Council and the Girona Costa Brava Tourism Board. Between 2012 and 2016 he enjoyed two postdoctoral fellowships from the Beatriu de Pinós / EU Marie Sklodowska Curie program, first at the Melbourne School of Land and Environment at the University of Melbourne (Australia), and then at the Department of Geography at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain). Prior to joining the UdG, he worked as assistant lecturer at the University of Valencia, where he taught various subjects in the degrees of Geography, Political Science and the Master in Water Resources Management. Between 2018 and 2021 he was Chief Editor of the scientific journal Cuadernos de Geografía de la Universitat de València.
