I have been a professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Girona since 1991, where I have developed my teaching and research. My research has focused on the study of catalysts with transition metals. I have worked with platinum (UdG), rhodium (Universiteit van Amsterdam) and palladium (ENSIACETT, Toulouse). I am part of two research groups: BIMATEC (Research Group on Advanced Biomaterials and Nanotechnology, GRCT0098) and DiMoCat (Research Group on Design and Modeling of Reactions Catalyzed by Transition Metals, GRCT0090).In the field of teaching, in 2019 I received the Jaume Vicens Vives distinction for university teaching quality individually in recognition of my professional career, which highlights innovative initiatives on the virtualization of teaching and the dissemination of chemistry in the university and in society, combining science, the use of new communicative forms, new methodologies and the training of new teachers. Likewise, I have been part of two work teams that have been recognized with the Jaume Vicens Vives distinction for university teaching quality in the collective category for the LaQuimica.net projects (Department of Chemistry, 2007) and for the Action Plan Tutorial (Faculty of Sciences, 2020). I am part of the Flipped Classroom Teaching Innovation Network and I was Director of the Josep Pallach Institut de Ciències de l'Educació from 2016 to 2022.I am currently researching the impact of scientific dissemination on society. Since 2003 I have been participating in and organizing science dissemination and promotion activities. I am the author and co-author of several science communication books and have published articles on teaching and popularizing chemistry in specialized magazines and in conference papers. I am part of the Chair of Scientific Culture and Digital Communication. Among others, I am responsible for the project Reacciona ... explota! (React...explode!) and U-Au, això és química (W-O-W! this is chemistry for the promotion of scientific vocations. The YouTube channel linked to these projects has over 360,000 subscribers. In 2023, I was awarded the first prize in Scientific Communication of the Association of Scientific Communication of Catalonia (ACCC).
