Psychologist, graduated in Psychology from the University of Barcelona. She holds a PhD in Psychiatry from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, awarded with cum laude honours and an International Mention. She is currently a Serra Húnter Associate Professor in the Department of Personality, Assessment and Psychological Treatment at the University of Girona, and serves as Co-Principal Investigator of the Cognition, Development and Mental Health Research Group (CDSaM).
Her teaching and research activities focus on adult clinical psychology, with particular emphasis on the improvement of psychological intervention protocols and the identification of predictors of treatment response in the field of mental health. Her main research interests include behavioural addictions and eating disorders.
Throughout her career, she has combined clinical and research activities in several academic and healthcare institutions, including Bellvitge University Hospital, Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, and the Maresme Health Consortium, where she has worked as a clinical researcher and/or clinical psychologist.
She has undertaken several international research stays at Brighton & Sussex Medical School, King’s College London (Maudsley Hospital), and Monash University (Melbourne, Australia), contributing to the development of her international research profile. She has been a member of renowned accredited research groups, including the Psychiatry and Mental Health SGR at Bellvitge University Hospital and CIBEROBN, and is currently a member of SGR GRHCS095.
She is the author of more than 50 scientific articles indexed in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) and 10 books and clinical practice guidelines. She has participated in numerous competitive national and European research projects, both as a member of the research team and as Principal Investigator (PI). In addition, she has led and promoted research projects in clinical psychology, particularly focused on addictive behaviours and eating disorders.
