I studied Industrial Engineering at the Barcelona School of Industrial Engineering (ETSEIB-UPC) as part of a dual-degree programme with the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA) in Lyon (2010). I subsequently completed the Interuniversity Master’s Degree in Statistics and Operations Research at UPC and UB (2011), together with a postgraduate degree in Lean Six Sigma improvement programmes (Black Belt). I hold a PhD from the University of Girona (2014).
My research focuses on adapting control charts and other Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to compositional data, as well as on disseminating these methods in industrial settings and facilitating the understanding of Compositional Data Analysis (CoDa) through, among other approaches, hands-on materials and interactive teaching sessions. This work was recognised by the European Network for Business and Industrial Statistics (ENBIS) with the Best Student Presentation Award in 2015.
My professional career has always been closely linked to applied statistics and data science, with projects spanning industry, public services and healthcare. For almost six years, I worked as a Lead Data Analyst at an international digital health company, applying statistical methods to longitudinal patient data in the field of migraine. This applied work was recognised by ENBIS with the Best Presentation Made by a Non-Academic Award in 2018.
In recent years, I have specialised in the application of statistics to in vitro diagnostics (IVD), particularly in the design and analysis of analytical performance studies, the interpretation of international guidelines, and the development of software solutions for the analysis and documentation of these studies.
I combine this activity with university teaching in statistics, design of experiments and sampling, with a strong focus on the understanding and practical application of statistical methods.
