Born in Girona in 1971, he studied Agricultural Engineering at the University of Lleida (UdL-ETSEA), where he later earned his PhD in 2006 under the supervision of Professors Javier Barragán and Francisco Ramírez de Cartagena. Since 2015, he has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Agriculture and Agri-Food Technology at the University of Girona (UdG). He teaches in the Degree in Agricultural Engineering at the Escola Politècnica Superior and in the Master in Water Resources Science and Technology at the Faculty of Science. He is also actively involved in teaching innovation projects and is part of the Teaching Innovation Network of the Institute of Education Sciences at UdG. His research focuses on irrigation engineering and water management, with particular interest in water reuse, filtration systems, and the sustainable management of rice-based agroecosystems. He is a member of the Irrigation Engineering and Management Research Group and currently coordinates the international project PROMEDRICE (PRIMA–Horizon 2020), which brings together ten institutions from five Mediterranean countries to promote sustainable farming practices and protect water resources. He has published over seventy scientific articles in leading international journals and serves as an editor for Irrigation Science and Agriculture. In recognition of his academic and research career, he obtained the advanced research accreditation from AQU Catalunya in 2020.
