Research
I am an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Geography at the University of Girona. My research explores how maps and geographic information systems can be used as critical tools to understand socio-spatial inequalities and the relationships between society, territory and environment, drawing on critical and feminist cartography and on qualitative and participatory mapping.
I hold a PhD in Geography from the Universitat de Barcelona (2018, Extraordinary Doctoral Award) and a degree in Architecture, specialising in urbanism, from ETSAB-UPC. Before joining the University of Girona, I was a postdoctoral researcher on the ERC project INTERMAPS: Mapping Intersectionality at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and I worked as an architect in territorial and landscape planning for the Government of Catalonia.
I currently participate in projects on nature restoration and landscape governance (Erasmus+ FutureLand), on urban dunes and coastal adaptation to climate change (Interreg POCTEFA DUAL), and on citizen science for mapping housing conflicts in cities under strong tourist pressure (FECYT). I am also responsible for the University of Girona''s participation in VIBE 2 (Erasmus+), a virtual exchange programme on climate change training, where the university leads the evaluation and impact assessment. My aim is to keep developing qualitative and participatory mapping approaches that bring social justice perspectives into territorial and environmental planning.
